Connect Claude & ChatGPT to Zendesk

Ask your AI to work your Zendesk queue with you. It can search tickets, read the whole conversation, post replies or internal notes, and change status, priority or assignee. It can also look up customers and organizations and pull satisfaction ratings.

Try asking

  • “Show me the open urgent tickets from Acme.”

The AI runs a Zendesk search like type:ticket status:open priority:urgent for the organization.

  • “Summarize ticket 48213 and suggest a reply.”

It reads every comment on the ticket, public replies and internal notes, and drafts a reply for you.

  • “Post that reply and set the ticket to pending.”

It updates the ticket with a public comment, which Zendesk emails to the requester, and sets the status.

What your AI can do

Search and read tickets

Find tickets, users and organizations with Zendesk search syntax, work through views and read the full ticket conversation.

Reply and update

Create tickets, post public replies or internal notes, change status, priority, assignee, group and tags, and preview macros.

Customers and quality

Create and update users and organizations, see a customer's ticket history and review satisfaction ratings.

  • “Assign everything in the Unassigned view to the Billing group.”

It lists the tickets in the view and updates each one with the group.

  • “What would the 'Refund issued' macro do on ticket 48213?”

It previews the macro without saving, so you see the change before it is applied.

  • “What did customers say in low CSAT ratings last week?”

It lists satisfaction ratings filtered by score and date range, with comments.

Questions

What can the AI do in Zendesk?

It can search and read tickets, comments, users, organizations, views, groups, macros, tags, ticket fields and satisfaction ratings. It can create tickets, users and organizations, update them, add tags and post public replies or internal notes. It can also preview a macro on a ticket before you apply it.

Does the AI see my Zendesk API key?

No. You paste your Zendesk API token into PipMCP once. It is encrypted at rest, never shown to the AI and never shown again after you save it. The AI only gets the results of the tools you have switched on.

Can I control what the AI is allowed to do?

Yes. You choose which tools are switched on, for example search and read only. Actions that reach customers, like a public reply through update_ticket, can require your approval before they run. Every tool call is logged.

Does it work with ChatGPT?

Yes. In ChatGPT, open Settings › Apps & Connectors › Advanced, turn on Developer mode and add your PipMCP link. Developer mode needs a paid ChatGPT plan: Plus, Pro, Business or Enterprise. The same link also works in Claude (Settings › Connectors › Add custom connector) and in Cursor.

What does it cost?

PipMCP has a free plan, and you do not need a credit card to start. Paid plans are billed per completed task. You connect your own Zendesk account, so anything Zendesk charges is between you and Zendesk.

Will customers get an email when the AI replies?

Only for public comments. When the AI adds a comment with public set to true, Zendesk emails it to the requester as a reply, and a public first comment on a new ticket may be emailed too. With public set to false, the comment is an internal note. Require approval for update_ticket and create_ticket if you want to review before anything is sent.
