Connect from Claude
Add a PipMCP endpoint to Claude on the web, the desktop app or Claude Code.
The easiest way is the guide on the endpoint page: choose Claude, click Create my link and follow the pictures. The steps are repeated here.
Your personal link
A personal link is the endpoint URL with an access key at the end:
https://mcp.pipmcp.com/<workspace>/<endpoint>/pmcp_your_key
Claude only asks for a URL, so the key travels inside the link. Treat the link like a password. Each link appears under Connection links on the endpoint page, where you can switch it off at any time.
Claude on the web and the desktop app
- Click your name in the bottom left, then Settings › Connectors.
- Click Add custom connector. On Team and Enterprise plans an owner may need to add it under Admin settings first.
- Enter a name, paste your personal link into Remote MCP server URL and click Add.
- In a chat, click + (or the tools icon) under the message box and switch the connector on.
The first time Claude uses one of your actions it asks for permission.
Claude Code
claude mcp add --transport http my_api https://mcp.pipmcp.com/<workspace>/<endpoint>/pmcp_your_key
Or keep the key out of the URL and send it as a header:
claude mcp add --transport http my_api https://mcp.pipmcp.com/<workspace>/<endpoint> \
--header "Authorization: Bearer pmcp_your_key"
my_api is the local name Claude Code uses; any short name works. Run /mcp inside Claude Code to check that the tools are listed. Remove it with claude mcp remove my_api.
Confirmations in Claude
When a tool needs confirmation under your endpoint's policy, clients that support MCP elicitation show a confirmation prompt and the call continues once the user accepts. Otherwise the tool returns CONFIRMATION_REQUIRED with an approval ID; approve it under Executions in the dashboard and ask Claude to run the same action again. See Permissions and risk.
Keep links safe
- Create one link per person or app so you can switch access off individually.
- Do not paste links into shared documents or commit them to code. If a link leaks, switch it off on the endpoint page and create a new one.
Not working?
401responses: the link or key is wrong, switched off, expired or belongs to a different endpoint.- No tools listed: check that the integration has a published version and that the endpoint's connection is active.
