Connect Claude & ChatGPT to Issuetrak

Ask your AI what an issue is about, which tickets belong to a customer, or to log a new issue in Issuetrak. It can search and read issues, notes, attachments and tasks, submit and update issues, add public or private notes, and look up users and organizations. You get answers from your helpdesk without switching screens.

Try asking

  • “What is the status of issue 4821?”

The AI reads the issue with subject, description, status, priority, assignee and organization.

  • “Log a new issue for Acme: the VPN drops every hour.”

It finds the right issue type and organization and submits the issue with subject and description.

  • “Assign issue 4821 to Maria and set the priority to high.”

It finds Maria's user ID and the priority, then updates the issue with both changes.

What your AI can do

Issues

Search, read, submit and update issues, and check which fields the form for an issue type uses.

Notes, tasks and attachments

Read and add public or private notes with labor time, list attached files and complete tasks on an issue.

Users and organizations

Search and read users and organizations, create organizations, and look up priorities and substatuses.

  • “Add a private note to 4821 that we are waiting for the vendor, 30 minutes spent.”

It adds the note as private, hidden from end users, and logs the labor time.

  • “What has happened on issue 4790 so far?”

It lists the notes and attached files on the issue, so you can catch up quickly.

  • “Mark the backup check task on 4821 as done.”

It lists the tasks on the issue and marks the right one complete.

Questions

What can the AI do in Issuetrak?

The AI can search and read issues, notes, attachments, tasks, users, organizations, issue types, issue forms, priorities and substatuses. It can submit and update issues, add notes, complete tasks and create organizations.

Does the AI see my Issuetrak credentials?

No. Your Issuetrak API v2 token is encrypted at rest and never shown to the AI. After you save it, it is not shown again, not even to you. The AI only sees the results of the tools it calls.

Can I control what the AI is allowed to do?

Yes. You choose which tools are switched on, so you can start read-only. Submitting an issue can make Issuetrak send notification emails, and notes and updates change the issue your team and end users see. These actions can require your approval before they run. Every tool call is logged.

Does it work with ChatGPT?

Yes. In ChatGPT, open Settings › Apps & Connectors › Advanced, turn on Developer mode and add your PipMCP link. Developer mode needs a paid ChatGPT plan: Plus, Pro, Business or Enterprise. The same link also works in Claude (Settings › Connectors › Add custom connector), Cursor and other MCP clients.

What does it cost?

PipMCP has a free plan with no credit card required. Paid plans bill per completed task. You also need your own Issuetrak site.

Why does PipMCP need my Issuetrak site address?

Each Issuetrak installation has its own address, and the API runs on that site. PipMCP uses the address you log in at, together with your API v2 token, to reach your issues. Your user needs the permission "Can authenticate with the API v2" to create the token.
