Set up in three steps

Pick the app
Create a free PipMCP account and choose Chat Data from the app list.

Paste your key
Paste a Chat Data API key. API keys require a paid Chat Data plan. Sign in to chat-data.com, open your Account page and create or copy an API key.

Add the link to your AI
You get a personal MCP link. Add it to Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor:
1. Click your name, then Settings › Connectors › Add custom connector.
2. Paste your link as the Remote MCP server URL.
3. Switch it on from the + menu in a chat.

Questions

What can the AI do in Chat Data?

The AI can list, read, create and retrain chatbots, update their settings, search their knowledge base and check training status and analytics. It can read conversations and leads, attach leads, pause the bot, start or end live chat, send live chat and WhatsApp messages, chat with a bot and delete an uploaded knowledge file.

Does the AI see my Chat Data credentials?

No. Your Chat Data credentials are encrypted at rest and never shown to the AI. After you save them, they are not shown again, not even to you. The AI only sees the results of the tools it calls.

Can I control what the AI is allowed to do?

Yes. You choose which tools are switched on, so you can start with read-only access. Sending live chat or WhatsApp messages reaches real people right away, and deleting a knowledge file cannot be undone. These can require your approval before they run. Every tool call is logged.

Does it work with ChatGPT?

Yes. In ChatGPT go to Settings › Apps & Connectors › Advanced and turn on Developer mode, then add your PipMCP link. Developer mode needs a paid ChatGPT plan: Plus, Pro, Business or Enterprise. The same link also works in Claude (Settings › Connectors › Add custom connector), Cursor and other MCP clients.

What does it cost?

PipMCP has a free plan with no credit card required. Paid plans bill per completed task. You also need your own Chat Data account. Chat Data API keys require a paid Chat Data plan.

Can a person take over a conversation from the bot?

Yes. The AI can pause the bot in a conversation, optionally for a set number of minutes, start live chat and give you the admin live chat link so you can answer in the browser. It can also send a message into the conversation for you and end live chat when you are done.
