Questions

What can the AI do in Gainsight Customer Communities?

The AI can search community content and read topics, categories, questions, conversations, replies, ideas, idea statuses, articles, product updates, events and product areas. It can ask questions, start conversations, reply to questions, conversations and ideas, submit ideas, mark best answers and set idea statuses.

Does the AI see my Gainsight Customer Communities credentials?

No. Your Gainsight Customer Communities credentials are encrypted at rest and never shown to the AI. After you save them, they are not shown again, not even to you. The AI only sees the results of the tools it calls.

Can I control what the AI is allowed to do?

Yes. You choose which tools are switched on, so you can start read-only. Questions, conversations and replies are published to the community right away, so these actions can require your approval before they run. Every tool call is logged.

Does it work with ChatGPT?

Yes. In ChatGPT go to Settings › Apps & Connectors › Advanced and turn on Developer mode, then add your PipMCP link. Developer mode needs a paid ChatGPT plan: Plus, Pro, Business or Enterprise. The same link also works in Claude (Settings › Connectors › Add custom connector), Cursor and other MCP clients.

What does it cost?

Gainsight Customer Communities connects with OAuth, and this OAuth connection needs the PipMCP Pro plan. PipMCP also has a free plan with no credit card, but it does not include this connection. Paid plans bill per completed task. You also need your own Gainsight Customer Communities community.

Who do the AI's posts appear from?

The API credentials can act on behalf of community users, so every post, reply or status change names the user it is made as, for example your support account. The post then appears in the community as that user. Tell the AI which user ID to post as, or keep the posting tools switched off.
