Set up in three steps

Pick the app
Create a free PipMCP account and choose Dialpad from the app list.

Paste your key
Paste a Dialpad API key. You must be a Dialpad Company Admin. Go to Admin Settings > My Company > Authentication > API Keys, click Add Key, name it, set the expiry and any extra scopes, then save and copy the key. It is shown only once.

Add the link to your AI
You get a personal MCP link. Add it to Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor:
Click your name, then Settings › Connectors › Add custom connector. Paste your link as the Remote MCP server URL. Switch it on from the + menu in a chat.

Questions

What can the AI do in Dialpad?

The AI can list and read calls, transcripts and AI recaps, list and set call labels, and look up users, your company, offices, departments and call centers with live status. It can start outbound calls, send SMS, create, update and delete contacts, and request and read statistics reports on calls, texts, voicemails and more.

Does the AI see my Dialpad credentials?

No. Your Dialpad credentials are encrypted at rest and never shown to the AI. After you save them, they are not shown again, not even to you. The AI only sees the results of the tools it calls.

Can I control what the AI is allowed to do?

Yes. You choose which tools are switched on, so you can start read-only. Starting a call and sending an SMS reach real people, and deleting a contact is permanent. Those actions can require your approval before they run. Every tool call is logged.

Does it work with ChatGPT?

Yes. In ChatGPT go to Settings › Apps & Connectors › Advanced and turn on Developer mode, then add your PipMCP link. Developer mode needs a paid ChatGPT plan: Plus, Pro, Business or Enterprise. The same link also works in Claude (Settings › Connectors › Add custom connector), Cursor and other MCP clients.

What does it cost?

PipMCP has a free plan with no credit card required. Paid plans bill per completed task. You also need your own Dialpad account.

Do I need to be a Dialpad admin?

Yes, to create the key. Only a Dialpad Company Admin can add an API key, under Admin Settings > My Company > Authentication > API Keys, and you set its expiry and any extra scopes there. The AI then works within what that key allows, and only through the tools you switch on in PipMCP.
