Pick the app
Create a free PipMCP account and choose Heartbeat from the app list.

Paste your key
Paste an API key for your Heartbeat community. You must be a community admin to create one. PipMCP sends it as a Bearer token.

Add the link to your AI
You get a personal MCP link. Add it to Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor:
Click your name, then Settings › Connectors › Add custom connector. Paste your link as the Remote MCP server URL. Switch it on from the + menu in a chat.

Questions

What can the AI do in Heartbeat?

It can read members, roles, groups, channels, threads, chat messages, direct chats, events, attendance, courses, completed lessons and documents. It can add and update members, create groups and change their members, post threads and comments, send chat and direct messages, and create events.

Does the AI see my Heartbeat API key?

No. You paste your Heartbeat API key into PipMCP once. It is encrypted at rest, never shown to the AI and never shown again after you save it, not even to you. The AI only sees the results of the tools you have switched on.

Can I control what the AI is allowed to do?

Yes. You choose which tools are switched on, so you can start read-only. Threads, comments, chat messages and direct messages are seen by members right away, and those tools can require your approval before they run. Every tool call is logged.

Does it work with ChatGPT?

Yes. In ChatGPT, open Settings › Apps & Connectors › Advanced, turn on Developer mode and add your PipMCP link. Developer mode needs a paid ChatGPT plan: Plus, Pro, Business or Enterprise. The same link also works in Claude (Settings › Connectors › Add custom connector), Cursor and other MCP clients.

What does it cost?

PipMCP has a free plan, and you do not need a credit card to start. Paid plans are billed per completed task. You also need your own Heartbeat community.

Do I need to be a Heartbeat admin?

Yes. Only a community admin can create a Heartbeat API key. The AI works through that key, and chat messages are sent as an admin user you name.
