Set up in three steps

Pick the app
Create a free PipMCP account and choose Orderstep from the app list.

Paste your key
Paste the client ID, client secret and organization ID from Orderstep. Email [email protected] and ask for API access with an application name, the Orderstep organisation, the purpose and a contact email. Orderstep replies with the three values. You can change the API user's permissions or disable it under Company settings > Users.

Add the link to your AI
You get a personal MCP link. Add it to Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor:
1. Click your name, then Settings › Connectors › Add custom connector.
2. Paste your link as the Remote MCP server URL.
3. Switch it on from the + menu in a chat.

Questions

What can the AI do in Orderstep?

It can search, read, create and update customers, contacts, quotes, sale orders, sale requests and products. It can read invoices, cases, tasks, users, payment terms and customer types. It cannot delete records.

Does the AI see my Orderstep client secret?

No. Your Orderstep credentials are encrypted at rest and never shown to the AI. After you save them, they are not shown again, not even to you. The AI only sees the results of the tools it calls.

Can I control what the AI is allowed to do?

Yes. You choose which tools are switched on, so you can start read-only. Creating and changing quotes and orders can require your approval before they run, and every tool call is logged. Orderstep also lets you limit the API user's permissions.

Does it work with ChatGPT?

Yes. In ChatGPT, open Settings › Apps & Connectors › Advanced, turn on Developer mode and add your PipMCP link. Developer mode needs a paid ChatGPT plan: Plus, Pro, Business or Enterprise. The same link also works in Claude (Settings › Connectors › Add custom connector), Cursor and other MCP clients.

What does it cost?

Orderstep connects with OAuth, and OAuth connections need the PipMCP Pro plan or above. PipMCP also has a free plan with no credit card, but it does not include this connection. Paid plans bill per completed task. You also need your own Orderstep account. PipMCP is an independent service and is not affiliated with Orderstep.

Is the Orderstep API stable?

Orderstep marks its public API as beta, so fields can change. PipMCP uses Orderstep's published API schema, and new fields show up in the AI's results as Orderstep adds them.
