Pick the app
Create a free PipMCP account and choose HiBob from the app list.

Paste your key
Paste the ID and token of an API service user. A Bob admin creates the service user on the Service Users settings page, adds it to a permission group with the data it may access, and copies its ID and token. The permission group decides what the AI can read, so keep it as narrow as you need.

You get a personal MCP link. Add it to Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor:
Click your name, then Settings › Connectors › Add custom connector. Paste your link as the Remote MCP server URL. Switch it on from the + menu in a chat.
Questions
What can the AI do in HiBob?
The AI can search employees, list profiles, read work, employment, lifecycle and salary history, and read company lists and employee fields. It can create and update employees, record a work change from an effective date and invite a new employee with an onboarding wizard.
Does the AI see my HiBob credentials?
No. Your HiBob service user token is encrypted at rest and never shown to the AI. After you save it, it is not shown again, not even to you. The AI only sees the results of the tools it calls.
Can I control what the AI is allowed to do?
Yes. You choose which tools are switched on, and the service user's permission group in Bob limits the data. HR data is sensitive, so you can leave salary history off. Inviting an employee sends an email right away, and that, like creating or updating employees, can require your approval before it runs. Every tool call is logged.
Does it work with ChatGPT?
Yes. In ChatGPT go to Settings › Apps & Connectors › Advanced and turn on Developer mode, then add your PipMCP link. Developer mode needs a paid ChatGPT plan: Plus, Pro, Business or Enterprise. The same link also works in Claude (Settings › Connectors › Add custom connector), Cursor and other MCP clients.
What does it cost?
PipMCP has a free plan with no credit card required. Paid plans bill per completed task. You also need your own HiBob account.
Can the AI see salaries?
Only if you let it. get_salary_history reads an employee's salary history, and it only works when that tool is on and the service user's permission group includes salary data. Leave the tool off, or leave salary out of the permission group, if the AI should not see pay.
