Set up in three steps

Pick the app
Create a free PipMCP account and choose Givebutter from the app list.

Paste your key
Paste a Givebutter API key. In the Givebutter dashboard click Settings, open the Developers tab and choose API. Click New API key, give it a name, click Create and copy the key. It is shown only once.

Add the link to your AI
You get a personal MCP link. Add it to Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor:
Click your name, then Settings › Connectors › Add custom connector. Paste your link as the Remote MCP server URL. Switch it on from the + menu in a chat.

Questions

What can the AI do in Givebutter?

It can read your account, campaigns, teams, fundraisers, contacts, households, activities, transactions, recurring plans, pledges, funds, tickets and payouts. It can create and update contacts and campaigns, add and remove tags, log activities, record offline donations and update transaction details.

Does the AI see my Givebutter credentials?

No. Your Givebutter credentials are encrypted at rest and never shown to the AI. After you save them, they are not shown again, not even to you. The AI only sees the results of the tools it calls.

Can I control what the AI is allowed to do?

Yes. You choose which tools are switched on, so you can start read-only. Actions that change donor records or giving history, like recording an offline donation or updating a transaction, can require your approval before they run. Every tool call is logged.

Does it work with ChatGPT?

Yes. In ChatGPT go to Settings › Apps & Connectors › Advanced and turn on Developer mode, then add your PipMCP link. Developer mode needs a paid ChatGPT plan: Plus, Pro, Business or Enterprise. The same link also works in Claude (Settings › Connectors › Add custom connector), Cursor and other MCP clients.

What does it cost?

PipMCP has a free plan with no credit card required. Paid plans bill per completed task. You also need your own Givebutter account.

Can the AI charge a donor's card?

No. There is no tool that charges a card or moves money. Recording an offline donation only logs a gift you already received by cash, check or similar, and no money is charged. The AI can read payouts but cannot start them.
