Connect Claude & ChatGPT to DoorLoop

Ask your AI which leases have an outstanding balance, what the rent roll looks like, or to open a work order in DoorLoop. It can read properties, units, tenants, leases, charges and payments, record a payment received from a tenant, create and update tasks, and read owners, vendors, bills, expenses and reports. Property questions get answered without running reports by hand.

Try asking

  • “Which leases have an outstanding balance right now?”

The AI lists leases filtered by outstanding balance, with tenants, units and amounts.

  • “Show me the rent roll for Maple Street as of today.”

It gets the rent roll report for that property as of the date you give.

  • “Record a 1,200 bank transfer from the tenant on lease 3310.”

It records the payment on the lease and can apply it to open charges. It does not charge anyone.

What your AI can do

Properties, units and leases

Tasks and work orders

Owners, vendors and reports

Read owners, vendors, bills and expenses, and pull the rent roll and profit and loss.

  • “Create a work order for unit 4B: leaking kitchen faucet, high priority.”

It creates a work order task with subject, unit, priority and description.

  • “Which vendor bills are still open this month?”

It lists open vendor bills with vendor, amount and due date.

  • “What was our profit and loss for Q2 on cash basis?”

It gets the profit and loss summary for that date range with the accounting method you choose.

Set up in three steps

  1. 1

    Pick the app

Create a free PipMCP account and choose DoorLoop from the app list.

  2. 2

    Paste your key

Paste your DoorLoop API key. In DoorLoop open your company settings, go to Zapier & API Keys (API access) and create an API key. The key's access role limits which data the AI can reach.

  3. 3

Add the link to your AI

You get a personal MCP link. Add it to Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor:

    1. Click your name, then Settings › Connectors › Add custom connector.
    2. Paste your link as the Remote MCP server URL.
    3. Switch it on from the + menu in a chat.

Questions

What can the AI do in DoorLoop?

The AI can read properties, units, tenants, leases, lease charges and payments, tasks, owners, vendors, vendor bills, expenses and notes, plus the rent roll and profit and loss reports. It can record a payment received from a tenant, create and update tasks and work orders, post task updates and add notes.

Does the AI see my DoorLoop API key?

No. Your DoorLoop credentials are encrypted at rest and never shown to the AI. After you save them, they are not shown again, not even to you. The AI only sees the results of the tools it calls.

Can I control what the AI is allowed to do?

Yes. You choose which tools are switched on, so you can start read-only. Recording a payment writes to your books, and a task update can notify the tenant and assignees, so these actions can require your approval before they run. Every tool call is logged.

Does it work with ChatGPT?

Yes. In ChatGPT go to Settings › Apps & Connectors › Advanced and turn on Developer mode, then add your PipMCP link. Developer mode needs a paid ChatGPT plan: Plus, Pro, Business or Enterprise. The same link also works in Claude (Settings › Connectors › Add custom connector), Cursor and other MCP clients.

What does it cost?

PipMCP has a free plan with no credit card required. Paid plans bill per completed task. You also need your own DoorLoop account.

Why does a request fail with an access error?

Each DoorLoop API key has an access role, and the key can only reach the data that role allows. If the AI gets an access error for leases, payments or reports, give the key a role with access to that area in DoorLoop, or create a new key and paste it into PipMCP.
