What can the AI do in DMI Open Data?

It can read weather observations, climate values for stations, municipalities, the 10x10 km grid and Denmark as a whole, ocean observations, lightning observations and tide predictions. It can also list and look up weather, climate, ocean and tide stations. All tools only read data.

Does the AI see my DMI Open Data credentials?

There are none to see. DMI's open data needs no account or API key, so you do not paste anything into PipMCP. The AI only sees the results of the tools it calls.

Can I control what the AI is allowed to do?

Yes. You choose which tools are switched on. All tools here only read public data, so nothing is changed anywhere. Every tool call is logged.

Does it work with ChatGPT?

Yes. In ChatGPT, open Settings › Apps & Connectors › Advanced, turn on Developer mode and add your PipMCP link. Developer mode needs a paid ChatGPT plan: Plus, Pro, Business or Enterprise. The same link also works in Claude (Settings › Connectors › Add custom connector), Cursor and other MCP clients.

What does it cost?

PipMCP has a free plan with no credit card required. Paid plans bill per completed task. DMI's open data itself is free.

Does it include weather forecasts?

No. The tools cover observations and climate data from DMI, plus tide predictions for water levels. There is no tool for weather forecasts, so ask about what has been measured rather than what the weather will be.
