Pick the app
Create a free PipMCP account and choose Confluence from the app list.

Paste your key
Enter your Confluence site name (the part before .atlassian.net), the email you log in to Confluence with, and an API token. To create the token, sign in at id.atlassian.com, open Security > API tokens and click Create API token.

Add the link to your AI
You get a personal MCP link. Add it to Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor:
Click your name, then Settings › Connectors › Add custom connector. Paste your link as the Remote MCP server URL. Switch it on from the + menu in a chat.

Questions

What can the AI do in Confluence?

The AI can list spaces and pages, read pages, blog posts, comments, labels, attachments and version history, and list the tasks on your pages. It can create pages and blog posts, update and rename pages, add comments and mark tasks complete. It sees the same spaces as the Atlassian account you connect.

Does the AI see my Confluence API token?

No. Your Confluence credentials are encrypted at rest and never shown to the AI. After you save them, they are not shown again, not even to you. The AI only sees the results of the tools it calls.

Can I control what the AI is allowed to do?

Yes. You choose which tools are switched on, so you can start read-only. Publishing or changing a page can require your approval before it runs, and an updated page keeps its old versions in the page history. Every tool call is logged.

Does it work with ChatGPT?

Yes. In ChatGPT go to Settings › Apps & Connectors › Advanced and turn on Developer mode, then add your PipMCP link. Developer mode needs a paid ChatGPT plan: Plus, Pro, Business or Enterprise. The same link also works in Claude (Settings › Connectors › Add custom connector), Cursor and other MCP clients.

What does it cost?

Can the AI search the full text of my Confluence pages?

Not directly. The AI finds pages by space, title, label or place in the page tree, and then reads their content. Tell it which space or page title to look in and it will take it from there. PipMCP is an independent service and is not affiliated with Atlassian.
