Connect Claude & ChatGPT to Common Room

Ask your AI what a company's people have done in your community, whether an organization has been on your website, or to put a group of contacts in a segment in Common Room. It can read contacts, organizations, activities, website visits and lead scores, browse Prospector results, and tag, segment or set custom fields on contacts and organizations. Checking a signal takes a question instead of a round of filters.

Try asking

  • “What have people from Acme done in our community this month?”

The AI finds the organization by name or domain and lists its activities in that date range, such as posts, messages and product events.

  • “Has anyone from acme.com been on our website lately?”

It finds the organization by its domain and lists its website visits.

  • “Tag every contact in the Enterprise trial segment with 'follow-up'.”

It finds the segment and the tag, lists the contacts in the segment and adds the tag to all of them in one update.

What your AI can do

Contacts and organizations

Read contacts and organizations with profile, activity stats and custom fields, find organizations by name or domain, and browse Prospector contacts and companies.

Activity and intent

List activities by contact, organization and date, see website visits, and read activity types and lead scores.

Segments, tags and fields

Search, create and rename segments, add contacts and organizations to segments, add or remove tags and set custom fields.

  • “Create a segment called 'Q4 expansion' and add Acme and Globex to it.”

It creates the segment, finds both organizations and adds them to it.

  • “How is our lead score calculated?”

It lists the lead scores in your workspace and reads how the one you pick is calculated.

  • “Show me the contacts at Globex and their activity stats.”

It finds the organization, lists its contacts and reads each profile with activity stats and custom fields.

Questions

What can the AI do in Common Room?

It can read contacts, organizations, activities, activity types, website visits, segments, tags, custom fields and lead scores, and list Prospector contacts and companies. It can create and rename segments, and update contacts and organizations by adding them to a segment, adding or removing tags or setting custom fields.

Does the AI see my Common Room API token?

No. Your Common Room API token is encrypted at rest and never shown to the AI. After you save it, it is not shown again, not even to you. The AI only sees the results of the tools it calls.

Can I control what the AI is allowed to do?

Yes. You choose which tools are switched on, so you can start with lookups only. Updating contacts or organizations can change many records in one call, and those tools can require your approval before they run. Every tool call is logged.

Does it work with ChatGPT?

Yes. In ChatGPT go to Settings › Apps & Connectors › Advanced and turn on Developer mode, then add your PipMCP link. Developer mode needs a paid ChatGPT plan: Plus, Pro, Business or Enterprise. The same link also works in Claude (Settings › Connectors › Add custom connector), Cursor and other MCP clients.

What does it cost?

PipMCP has a free plan with no credit card required. Paid plans bill per completed task. You also need your own Common Room account.

Who can create the Common Room API token?

Only room admins can create tokens, under Settings > API tokens. If you are not an admin, ask one to create a token for you. Once connected, the AI can check which Common Room user and community the token belongs to.
