Set up in three steps

Pick the app
Create a free PipMCP account and choose Buffer from the app list.

Paste your key
Paste your Buffer API key. Log in to Buffer, go to Settings > API, create a new API key and copy it. The key can access all organizations and channels in your account.

Add the link to your AI
You get a personal MCP link. Add it to Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor:
Click your name, then Settings › Connectors › Add custom connector. Paste your link as the Remote MCP server URL. Switch it on from the + menu in a chat.

Questions

What can the AI do in Buffer?

The AI can read your account, organizations, channels, posts, content items, ideas, idea groups, tags, post templates, daily posting limits and post metrics. It can create drafts, ideas, posts and multi-channel posts, turn drafts into posts, edit posts, drafts and content items, move posts in the queue and delete posts.

Does the AI see my Buffer credentials?

No. Your Buffer credentials are encrypted at rest and never shown to the AI. After you save them, they are not shown again, not even to you. The AI only sees the results of the tools it calls.

Can I control what the AI is allowed to do?

Yes. You choose which tools are switched on, so you can start with drafts and ideas only. Posts set to share now publish immediately and deleting a post is permanent, so creating and deleting posts can require your approval before they run. Every tool call is logged.

Does it work with ChatGPT?

Yes. In ChatGPT go to Settings › Apps & Connectors › Advanced and turn on Developer mode, then add your PipMCP link. Developer mode needs a paid ChatGPT plan: Plus, Pro, Business or Enterprise. The same link also works in Claude (Settings › Connectors › Add custom connector), Cursor and other MCP clients.

What does it cost?

PipMCP has a free plan with no credit card required. Paid plans bill per completed task. You also need your own Buffer account.

Which organizations and channels can the AI reach?

A Buffer API key can access all organizations and channels in your account. The AI starts by reading your account to get the organization ID, then lists the connected channels. What it can do there depends on the tools you switch on in PipMCP.
