Pick the app
Create a free PipMCP account and choose Vimeo from the app list.

Paste your key
Paste a Vimeo personal access token. Go to developer.vimeo.com/apps and create an app, or open an existing one. Under Generate an access token choose Authenticated (you), tick the scopes you need (for example Public, Private, Edit, Upload, Delete), click Generate and copy the token.

You get a personal MCP link. Add it to Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor:
Click your name, then Settings › Connectors › Add custom connector. Paste your link as the Remote MCP server URL. Switch it on from the + menu in a chat.

What can the AI do in Vimeo?
The AI can read your account and upload quota, list and search your videos, read a video's details, embed code, comments and caption tracks, and list showcases and folders with their videos. It can update videos, upload a video from a link, post comments and replies, create and update showcases, create folders, add or remove videos, and delete videos.
Does the AI see my Vimeo credentials?
No. Your Vimeo credentials are encrypted at rest and never shown to the AI. After you save them, they are not shown again, not even to you. The AI only sees the results of the tools it calls.
Can I control what the AI is allowed to do?
Yes. You choose which tools are switched on, so you can start read-only. Comments and replies are public, changing privacy affects who can watch, and deleting a video cannot be undone. Those actions can require your approval before they run. Every tool call is logged.
Does it work with ChatGPT?
Yes. In ChatGPT go to Settings › Apps & Connectors › Advanced and turn on Developer mode, then add your PipMCP link. Developer mode needs a paid ChatGPT plan: Plus, Pro, Business or Enterprise. The same link also works in Claude (Settings › Connectors › Add custom connector), Cursor and other MCP clients.
What does it cost?

Which scopes should my Vimeo token have?
Only the ones you want the AI to use. When you generate the token at developer.vimeo.com/apps, you tick its scopes, for example leaving out Delete if the AI should never delete videos. Together with the tools you switch on in PipMCP, that sets what the AI can do.
