What can the AI do in Veriphone?
The AI has one tool, verify_phone_number. It checks whether a phone number is valid and returns its carrier, line type (mobile, landline or VoIP), country and formatted versions. It does not call or text anyone.
Does the AI see my Veriphone API key?
No. Your Veriphone credentials are encrypted at rest and never shown to the AI. After you save them, they are not shown again, not even to you. The AI only sees the results of the tools it calls.
Can I control what the AI is allowed to do?
Yes. You choose which tools are switched on, and you can require approval before a check runs, for example to keep an eye on your lookup quota. The tool only reads information about a number and changes nothing. Every tool call is logged.
Does it work with ChatGPT?
Yes. In ChatGPT go to Settings › Apps & Connectors › Advanced and turn on Developer mode, then add your PipMCP link. Developer mode needs a paid ChatGPT plan: Plus, Pro, Business or Enterprise. The same link also works in Claude (Settings › Connectors › Add custom connector), Cursor and other MCP clients.
What does it cost?

Do numbers need a country code?
An international number such as +14169670000 works best. If a number has no country prefix, the AI can pass a default country, for example US or GB, so Veriphone knows how to read it.
