Pick the app
Create a free PipMCP account and choose Trainual from the app list.

Paste your key
Paste a Trainual API token. You need a Trainual Premium or Enterprise training plan (or an Operations suite plan) and Admin+ permission. In Trainual open My settings > Integrations & AI, create an API token, choose its permissions (read or manage per resource) and copy it.

Add the link to your AI
You get a personal MCP link. Add it to Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor:
1. Click your name, then Settings › Connectors › Add custom connector.
2. Paste your link as the Remote MCP server URL.
3. Switch it on from the + menu in a chat.

Questions

What can the AI do in Trainual?

The AI can read users, groups, subjects, pages, documents, courses and responsibilities, search training content, and list assignments, completions, test attempts and account activity. It can assign subjects and responsibilities, create responsibilities, create and update groups, update users and remove assignments.

Does the AI see my Trainual credentials?

No. Your Trainual credentials are encrypted at rest and never shown to the AI. After you save them, they are not shown again, not even to you. The AI only sees the results of the tools it calls.

Can I control what the AI is allowed to do?

Yes. You choose which tools are switched on, so you can start with reading progress only. Removing an assignment cannot be undone, and updating a group's members replaces the whole list, so those can require your approval before they run. Every tool call is logged. The token's own read and manage permissions in Trainual also limit what the AI can reach.

Does it work with ChatGPT?

Yes. In ChatGPT go to Settings › Apps & Connectors › Advanced and turn on Developer mode, then add your PipMCP link. Developer mode needs a paid ChatGPT plan: Plus, Pro, Business or Enterprise. The same link also works in Claude (Settings › Connectors › Add custom connector), Cursor and other MCP clients.

What does it cost?

PipMCP has a free plan with no credit card required. Paid plans bill per completed task. You also need your own Trainual account.

Which Trainual plan do I need?

Trainual's API needs a Premium or Enterprise training plan, or an Operations suite plan, and a user with Admin+ permission. You create the API token under My settings > Integrations & AI and choose read or manage permission for each resource.
