Set up in three steps

Pick the app
Create a free PipMCP account and choose Talkroute from the app list.

Paste your key
Paste your Talkroute API key (it starts with tr_live_). Talkroute issues API keys on request: use Request API Access on talkroute.com/api. Sending messages through the API may require a Talkroute bulk texting plan.

Add the link to your AI
You get a personal MCP link. Add it to Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor:
1. Click your name, then Settings › Connectors › Add custom connector.
2. Paste your link as the Remote MCP server URL.
3. Switch it on from the + menu in a chat.

Questions

What can the AI do in Talkroute?

It can read call history, text conversations and messages, voicemails and voicemail boxes, contacts, users, numbers, extensions, ring groups and text campaigns. It can send text messages, mark voicemails read or unread, and create, update and delete contacts.

Does the AI see my Talkroute API key?

No. You paste your Talkroute API key into PipMCP once. It is encrypted at rest, never shown to the AI and never shown again after you save it. The AI only gets the results of the tools you have switched on.

Can I control what the AI is allowed to do?

Yes. Switch on only the tools you want, for example reading calls and voicemails without sending texts. send_text_message reaches the recipient right away and delete_contact cannot be undone, and both can require your approval before they run. Every tool call is logged.

Does it work with ChatGPT?

Yes. In ChatGPT, open Settings › Apps & Connectors › Advanced, turn on Developer mode and add your PipMCP link. Developer mode needs a paid ChatGPT plan: Plus, Pro, Business or Enterprise. The same link also works in Claude (Settings › Connectors › Add custom connector), Cursor and other MCP clients.

What does it cost?

PipMCP has a free plan, and you do not need a credit card to start. Paid plans are billed per completed task. You also need your own Talkroute account.

How do I get a Talkroute API key?

Talkroute does not create API keys in the app. You request API access on talkroute.com/api, and Talkroute gives you a key that starts with tr_live_. Sending texts through the API may require a bulk texting plan.
