Set up in three steps

Pick the app
Create a free PipMCP account and choose RingCentral from the app list.

Paste your key
Paste the Client ID and Client secret from your own RingCentral app, then sign in with your RingCentral login once. In the RingCentral Developer Console (developers.ringcentral.com), open the Apps console and click Create App. Choose REST API App with the 3-legged OAuth flow, enable refresh tokens, add the redirect URI https://pipmcp.com/oauth/callback, select the scopes you need (for example Read Call Log, SMS, Read Accounts and Team Messaging) and set access to Private. Leave Account ID and Extension ID as ~.

Add the link to your AI
You get a personal MCP link. Add it to Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor:
1. Click your name, then Settings › Connectors › Add custom connector.
2. Paste your link as the Remote MCP server URL.
3. Switch it on from the + menu in a chat.

What can the AI do in RingCentral?

It can read your call log and the company call log, SMS, voicemail and fax messages, your phone numbers, presence and profile, the company directory, your address book, team chats, posts, tasks, calendar events and past RingCentral Video meetings. It can send SMS, mark messages read or unread, post in chats, create and complete tasks, create calendar events and create or update address book contacts.

Does the AI see my RingCentral credentials?

No. Your RingCentral credentials are encrypted at rest and never shown to the AI. After you save them, they are not shown again, not even to you. The AI only sees the results of the tools it calls.

Can I control what the AI is allowed to do?

Yes. You choose which tools are switched on, so you can start with reading your call log and messages only. Sending an SMS and posting in a chat reach other people right away, and both can require your approval before they run. Every tool call is logged.

Does it work with ChatGPT?

Yes. In ChatGPT, open Settings › Apps & Connectors › Advanced, turn on Developer mode and add your PipMCP link. Developer mode needs a paid ChatGPT plan: Plus, Pro, Business or Enterprise. The same link also works in Claude (Settings › Connectors › Add custom connector), Cursor and other MCP clients.

What does it cost?

RingCentral connects with OAuth, and OAuth connections need the PipMCP Pro plan or above. PipMCP also has a free plan with no credit card, but it does not include this connection. Paid plans bill per completed task. You also need your own RingCentral account.

Why do I need my own RingCentral app?

RingCentral connects with OAuth, so PipMCP signs in through an app you create in the RingCentral Developer Console. You choose its scopes and set access to Private, paste its Client ID and Client secret into PipMCP and sign in once. Account ID and Extension ID can stay as ~ to use the account and extension you sign in with.
