Set up in three steps

Pick the app
Create a free PipMCP account and choose Loop Returns from the app list.

Paste your key
Paste a Loop API key. You need Loop Plus or the Loop Integrations add-on. In the Loop Admin go to Returns Management > Tools & integrations > Developer Tools, click Generate API key and tick the scopes the AI should use, for example Returns, Orders and Carts. Name the key, click Generate and copy it.

Add the link to your AI
You get a personal MCP link. Add it to Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor:
1. Click your name, then Settings › Connectors › Add custom connector.
2. Paste your link as the Remote MCP server URL.
3. Switch it on from the + menu in a chat.

What can the AI do in Loop Returns?

The AI can list and read returns and their notes, orders, customers, products and variants, the blocklist and allowlist, and Happy Returns shipments. It can add notes, flag, close, cancel and process returns, add and remove blocklist entries and add allowlist entries.

Does the AI see my Loop Returns API key?

No. Your Loop Returns credentials are encrypted at rest and never shown to the AI. After you save them, they are not shown again, not even to you. The AI only sees the results of the tools it calls.

Can I control what the AI is allowed to do?

Yes. You choose which tools are switched on, so you can start read-only. Processing a return issues a refund, exchange or store credit, and cancelling a return cannot be undone. Both can require your approval before they run. Every tool call is logged.

Does it work with ChatGPT?

Yes. In ChatGPT go to Settings › Apps & Connectors › Advanced and turn on Developer mode, then add your PipMCP link. Developer mode needs a paid ChatGPT plan: Plus, Pro, Business or Enterprise. The same link also works in Claude (Settings › Connectors › Add custom connector), Cursor and other MCP clients.

What does it cost?

PipMCP has a free plan with no credit card required. Paid plans bill per completed task. You also need your own Loop Returns account.

Why do some tools return a 401 error?

Loop API keys are scoped. If your key does not include a scope that a tool needs, for example Orders, Loop returns a 401 error for that tool. Generate a key with the scopes for the tools you switch on in PipMCP.
