Pick the app
Create a free PipMCP account and choose EmailOctopus from the app list.

Paste your key
Paste an EmailOctopus API key. Open dashboard.emailoctopus.com/developer/api-keys, click Add key at the bottom, enter a name and click Create. Copy the key straight away, because it is shown only once. Legacy keys from before API v2 do not work.

Add the link to your AI
You get a personal MCP link. Add it to Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor:
Click your name, then Settings › Connectors › Add custom connector. Paste your link as the Remote MCP server URL. Switch it on from the + menu in a chat.

Questions

What can the AI do in EmailOctopus?

It can list and read lists, contacts, tags and campaigns, and read campaign summaries, recipients and link reports. It can create and rename lists, create tags, add, upsert, update and delete contacts, and start an automation for a contact.

Does the AI see my EmailOctopus API key?

No. Your EmailOctopus API key is encrypted at rest and never shown to the AI. After you save it, it is not shown again, not even to you. The AI only sees the results of the tools it calls.

Can I control what the AI is allowed to do?

Yes. You choose which tools are switched on, so you can start with reports only. Deleting a contact is permanent, and starting an automation sends emails, so those tools can require your approval before they run. Every tool call is logged.

Does it work with ChatGPT?

Yes. In ChatGPT go to Settings › Apps & Connectors › Advanced and turn on Developer mode, then add your PipMCP link. Developer mode needs a paid ChatGPT plan: Plus, Pro, Business or Enterprise. The same link also works in Claude (Settings › Connectors › Add custom connector), Cursor and other MCP clients.

What does it cost?

PipMCP has a free plan with no credit card required. Paid plans bill per completed task. You also need your own EmailOctopus account.

Can the AI send a campaign?

No. The AI can read campaigns and their reports, but there is no tool to create or send a campaign. It can start an existing automation for a contact, and the automation then sends its emails to that contact. Adding a contact with status pending sends a double opt-in email.
