Set up in three steps

Pick the app
Create a free PipMCP account and choose Direct Mail from the app list.

Paste your key
Paste your Direct Mail API Key ID and Key Secret, and the project document identifier. In the Direct Mail Mac app choose Direct Mail > Direct Mail Account, scroll to API Access, click Show and then Add New API Key. Then open your project, click Collaboration in the sidebar, click + > Add API Key, select the key and save. The project must be saved in the cloud, and its API Document Identifier is shown at the bottom of the Collaboration window.

Add the link to your AI
You get a personal MCP link. Add it to Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor:
1. Click your name, then Settings › Connectors › Add custom connector.
2. Paste your link as the Remote MCP server URL.
3. Switch it on from the + menu in a chat.

Questions

What can the AI do in Direct Mail?

It can list and read your projects, address groups, contacts, messages and reports for sent messages, including recipients, opens, links and clicks. It can create address groups, add, update and remove contacts, and create and edit message drafts.

Does the AI see my Direct Mail API key?

No. You paste your Direct Mail Key ID and Key Secret into PipMCP once. They are encrypted at rest, never shown to the AI and never shown again after you save them. The AI only gets the results of the tools you have switched on.

Can I control what the AI is allowed to do?

Yes. Switch on only the tools you want, for example reports and contact lookups without changes. Actions that cannot be undone, like delete_address, can require your approval before they run. Every tool call is logged.

Does it work with ChatGPT?

Yes. In ChatGPT, open Settings › Apps & Connectors › Advanced, turn on Developer mode and add your PipMCP link. Developer mode needs a paid ChatGPT plan: Plus, Pro, Business or Enterprise. The same link also works in Claude (Settings › Connectors › Add custom connector), Cursor and other MCP clients.

What does it cost?

PipMCP has a free plan, and you do not need a credit card to start. Paid plans are billed per completed task. You also need your own Direct Mail account.

Can the AI send campaigns?

No. The AI can create and edit message drafts, but there is no tool for sending. You review and send the message yourself in the Direct Mail app, and the AI can then read the report.
