Set up in three steps

Pick the app
Create a free PipMCP account and choose Credly from the app list.

Paste your key
Paste a Credly authorization token, leave the password field empty and enter your Organization ID. In Credly go to Developers > Authorization Tokens, click Add Token, give it a name, tick the permissions you need and save. The Organization ID is shown at the top of any tab in the Developers section. Tokens expire after 180 days.

Add the link to your AI
You get a personal MCP link. Add it to Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor:
1. Click your name, then Settings › Connectors › Add custom connector.
2. Paste your link as the Remote MCP server URL.
3. Switch it on from the + menu in a chat.

Questions

What can the AI do in Credly?

It can search and read badge templates, issued badges, employees, employee skills, badges employees earned elsewhere, badge recommendations, events, issuers and organizations. It can issue a badge, replace an issued badge with corrected details and revoke a badge.

Does the AI see my Credly token?

No. You paste your Credly token into PipMCP once. It is encrypted at rest, never shown to the AI and never shown again after you save it. The AI only gets the results of the tools you have switched on.

Can I control what the AI is allowed to do?

Yes. Switch on only the tools you want, for example searches without issuing. Issuing and replacing badges and revoking a badge can require your approval before they run. A revoke cannot be undone. Every tool call is logged. The permissions you tick on the token in Credly also limit what the AI can do.

Does it work with ChatGPT?

Yes. In ChatGPT, open Settings › Apps & Connectors › Advanced, turn on Developer mode and add your PipMCP link. Developer mode needs a paid ChatGPT plan: Plus, Pro, Business or Enterprise. The same link also works in Claude (Settings › Connectors › Add custom connector), Cursor and other MCP clients.

What does it cost?

PipMCP has a free plan, and you do not need a credit card to start. Paid plans are billed per completed task. You connect your own Credly organization.

Will earners be emailed when the AI issues or revokes a badge?

Yes. When a badge is issued, Credly emails the recipient so they can accept it. When a badge is revoked, the earner is emailed unless the revoke is sent with the notification switched off.
