Create a free PipMCP account and choose Canva from the app list.

Paste your key
Create your own Canva integration, paste its Client ID and client secret, and sign in with Canva once. At canva.com/developers open Your integrations, create a Public integration and under Outside Canva click Start integrating. Under Scopes tick design, asset, folder, comment and profile read and write, and add the redirect URL https://pipmcp.com/oauth/callback. Then generate a client secret.

You get a personal MCP link. Add it to Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor:
Click your name, then Settings › Connectors › Add custom connector. Paste your link as the Remote MCP server URL. Switch it on from the + menu in a chat.

Questions

What can the AI do in Canva?

The AI can search and read designs, their pages, folders, assets and comment threads, and see your profile name. It can export designs, create, rename and delete folders, move items, upload images or videos from a URL, import files as new designs, update asset names and tags, and add comments and replies.

Does the AI see my Canva credentials?

No. Your Canva credentials are encrypted at rest and never shown to the AI. After you save them, they are not shown again, not even to you. The AI only sees the results of the tools it calls.

Can I control what the AI is allowed to do?

Yes. You choose which tools are switched on, so you can start with search and export only. Deleting a folder moves its contents to Trash, and comments are visible to everyone with access to the design. Both can require your approval before they run. Every tool call is logged.

Does it work with ChatGPT?

Yes. In ChatGPT go to Settings › Apps & Connectors › Advanced and turn on Developer mode, then add your PipMCP link. Developer mode needs a paid ChatGPT plan: Plus, Pro, Business or Enterprise. The same link also works in Claude (Settings › Connectors › Add custom connector), Cursor and other MCP clients.

What does it cost?

Canva connects with OAuth, and OAuth connections need the PipMCP Pro plan or above. PipMCP also has a free plan with no credit card, but it does not include this connection. Paid plans bill per completed task. You also need your own Canva account.

Why do I need to create my own Canva integration?

PipMCP connects to Canva with OAuth through an integration that you own. You create it in the Canva developer portal and choose its scopes. Then you sign in with Canva once, and PipMCP renews access automatically after that.
