Paste your key
Paste one Brex user token. Sign in to dashboard.brex.com as an account or card admin, go to Developer › Settings, accept the API terms if asked and click Create Token. Pick the read and write scopes you need and copy the token, which starts with bxt_. Brex expires tokens that are not used for 90 days.

Add the link to your AI
You get a personal MCP link. Add it to Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor:
Click your name, then Settings › Connectors › Add custom connector. Paste your link as the Remote MCP server URL. Switch it on from the + menu in a chat.
Questions
What can the AI do in Brex?
It can read your company, legal entities, users, cards, departments, locations and titles. It can create cards, departments and locations, change card spend limits, lock cards and open them again, invite users and update a user's department, location, title, manager or status. The tools do not read card transactions or send payments.
Does the AI see my Brex credentials?
No. Your Brex token is encrypted at rest and never shown to the AI. After you save it, it is not shown again, not even to you. The AI only sees the results of the tools it calls.
Can I control what the AI is allowed to do?
Yes. You choose which tools are switched on, so you can start with lookups only. Creating a card, changing a limit, locking a card and inviting a user all change what people can spend or access, so they can require your approval before they run. Every tool call is logged.
Does it work with ChatGPT?
Yes. In ChatGPT, open Settings › Apps & Connectors › Advanced, turn on Developer mode and add your PipMCP link. Developer mode needs a paid ChatGPT plan: Plus, Pro, Business or Enterprise. The same link also works in Claude (Settings › Connectors › Add custom connector), Cursor and other MCP clients.
What does it cost?
PipMCP has a free plan with no credit card required. Paid plans bill per completed task. You also need your own Brex account.
Which Brex token should I create?
Create a user token under Developer › Settings as an account or card admin, and choose only the scopes you want the AI to use. The scopes limit what PipMCP can reach, on top of the tools you switch on. A token that goes unused for 90 days expires, and you can paste a new one in PipMCP.
