Set up in three steps

Pick the app
Create a free PipMCP account and choose Bloomerang from the app list.

Paste your key
Paste your Bloomerang private API key. Log in to Bloomerang CRM as an Administrator, click the user icon in the upper right corner and choose Edit My User. Generate a new API key there and copy it. The key gives full access to your database, so keep it secret.

Add the link to your AI
You get a personal MCP link. Add it to Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor:
Click your name, then Settings › Connectors › Add custom connector. Paste your link as the Remote MCP server URL. Switch it on from the + menu in a chat.

What can the AI do in Bloomerang?

It can search and read constituents, households, timelines, transactions, interactions, notes, tasks, users, campaigns, funds and appeals. It can create and update constituents, add email addresses, phone numbers and addresses, log and update interactions, add notes, create, update and complete tasks, and refund a transaction.

Does the AI see my Bloomerang API key?

No. Your Bloomerang API key is encrypted at rest and never shown to the AI. After you save it, it is not shown again, not even to you. The AI only sees the results of the tools it calls.

Can I control what the AI is allowed to do?

Yes. The Bloomerang key gives full access to your database, so the tools you switch on in PipMCP set the limits. You can start with lookups only. A refund can return money to the donor, so refund_transaction can require your approval before it runs. Every tool call is logged.

Does it work with ChatGPT?

Yes. In ChatGPT go to Settings › Apps & Connectors › Advanced and turn on Developer mode, then add your PipMCP link. Developer mode needs a paid ChatGPT plan: Plus, Pro, Business or Enterprise. The same link also works in Claude (Settings › Connectors › Add custom connector), Cursor and other MCP clients.

What does it cost?

PipMCP has a free plan with no credit card required. Paid plans bill per completed task. You also need your own Bloomerang account.

What happens if the AI refunds a gift?

refund_transaction refunds a transaction, with an optional note. By default the payment processor also returns the money to the donor. If run_processor_refund is set to false, the refund is only recorded in Bloomerang. You can require approval for this tool or leave it switched off.
