Pick the app
Create a free PipMCP account and choose Trello from the app list.

Paste your key
Trello needs one line built from your API key and token. Go to trello.com/power-ups/admin, create or open a Power-Up, generate an API key on its API key tab and click the Token link next to it to copy your token. Then paste: Authorization: OAuth oauth_consumer_key="YOUR_KEY", oauth_token="YOUR_TOKEN"

Add the link to your AI
You get a personal MCP link. Add it to Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor:
Click your name, then Settings › Connectors › Add custom connector. Paste your link as the Remote MCP server URL. Switch it on from the + menu in a chat.

Questions

What can the AI do in Trello?

It can read boards, lists, cards, labels, members, comments, checklists, attachments and notifications, and search across Trello. It can create cards, lists, checklists and checklist items, add comments, labels and members, and update, move or archive cards and lists. It can also delete a card if you switch that tool on.

Does the AI see my Trello API key?

No. You paste your Trello API key and token into PipMCP once. It is encrypted at rest, never shown to the AI and never shown again after you save it. The AI only gets the results of the tools you have switched on.

Can I control what the AI is allowed to do?

Yes. You choose which tools are switched on, for example reading and commenting only. Risky actions like permanently deleting a card can require your approval before they run. Every tool call is logged.

Does it work with ChatGPT?

Yes. In ChatGPT, open Settings › Apps & Connectors › Advanced, turn on Developer mode and add your PipMCP link. Developer mode needs a paid ChatGPT plan: Plus, Pro, Business or Enterprise. The same link also works in Claude (Settings › Connectors › Add custom connector) and in Cursor.

What does it cost?

PipMCP has a free plan, and you do not need a credit card to start. Paid plans are billed per completed task. You connect your own Trello account, so anything Trello charges is between you and Trello.

Why do I need a Power-Up to get an API key?

Trello hands out API keys through its Power-Up admin page, so you create or open a Power-Up at trello.com/power-ups/admin to get one. On its API key tab you generate the key, then click Token to authorize and copy your token. You paste both into PipMCP as one Authorization line.
