Pick the app
Create a free PipMCP account and choose Pinboard from the app list.

Paste your Pinboard API token, including your username. In Pinboard open Settings > Password and copy the API token, which looks like username:1A2B3C4D5E.

Questions
What can the AI do in Pinboard?
The AI can list and read your bookmarks, tags and notes, suggest tags for a URL, count bookmarks by date and see when they last changed. It can save new bookmarks, rename tags and delete bookmarks.
Does the AI see my Pinboard API token?
No. Your Pinboard credentials are encrypted at rest and never shown to the AI. After you save them, they are not shown again, not even to you. The AI only sees the results of the tools it calls.
Can I control what the AI is allowed to do?
Yes. You choose which tools are switched on. delete_bookmark removes a bookmark for good and rename_tag changes a tag on every bookmark, so you can leave them off or have them require your approval before they run. Every tool call is logged.
Does it work with ChatGPT?
Yes. In ChatGPT go to Settings › Apps & Connectors › Advanced and turn on Developer mode, then add your PipMCP link. Developer mode needs a paid ChatGPT plan: Plus, Pro, Business or Enterprise. The same link also works in Claude (Settings › Connectors › Add custom connector), Cursor and other MCP clients.
What does it cost?
PipMCP has a free plan with no credit card required. Paid plans bill per completed task. You also need your own Pinboard account.
Can the AI overwrite a bookmark I already have?
It does not have to. When saving, add_bookmark has a replace setting. Set to no, Pinboard does not overwrite an existing bookmark for the same URL. Ask the AI to keep existing bookmarks and it will save with replace set to no.
