Pick the app

Paste an OpenRouter API key. Sign in at openrouter.ai, open Settings > API Keys and click Create Key. The key is only shown once, so copy it straight away. Anything the AI runs through OpenRouter is billed to your OpenRouter credits.

Questions
What can the AI do in OpenRouter?
It can search the model catalog, read model details, list providers and the endpoints that serve a model, list image models, and read your credits, key usage, activity and past generations. It can get chat replies from OpenRouter models, create embeddings and generate images.
Does the AI see my OpenRouter credentials?
No. Your OpenRouter credentials are encrypted at rest and never shown to the AI. After you save them, they are not shown again, not even to you. The AI only sees the results of the tools it calls.
Can I control what the AI is allowed to do?
Yes. You choose which tools are switched on, so you can start with the catalog and usage tools only. Chat replies, embeddings and images use your OpenRouter credits, and these tools can require your approval before they run. Every tool call is logged.
Does it work with ChatGPT?
Yes. In ChatGPT, open Settings › Apps & Connectors › Advanced, turn on Developer mode and add your PipMCP link. Developer mode needs a paid ChatGPT plan: Plus, Pro, Business or Enterprise. The same link also works in Claude (Settings › Connectors › Add custom connector), Cursor and other MCP clients.
What does it cost?

Who pays for the models the AI calls?
You do, through your own OpenRouter credits. Chat replies, embeddings and image generation all draw on your balance. The AI can show the connected key's usage and spending limit and your remaining credits, so you can keep an eye on it.
