What can the AI do in New Relic Insights?
The AI can run NRQL queries against your New Relic event data for the account ID you give. It reads data only and cannot change anything in New Relic.
Does the AI see my New Relic Insights credentials?
No. Your New Relic query key is encrypted at rest and never shown to the AI. After you save it, it is not shown again, not even to you. The AI only sees the results of the tools it calls.
Can I control what the AI is allowed to do?
Yes. PipMCP has one tool for this app, run_nrql_query, and it only reads data. You can switch it off at any time, and every tool call is logged.
Does it work with ChatGPT?
Yes. In ChatGPT go to Settings › Apps & Connectors › Advanced and turn on Developer mode, then add your PipMCP link. Developer mode needs a paid ChatGPT plan: Plus, Pro, Business or Enterprise. The same link also works in Claude (Settings › Connectors › Add custom connector), Cursor and other MCP clients.

Which address should I use, US or EU?
Use the address that matches the region of your New Relic account. US accounts use https://insights-api.newrelic.com and EU accounts use https://insights-api.eu.newrelic.com. If you create keys at one.eu.newrelic.com, your account is in the EU.
