What can the AI do in IPGeolocation.io?

The AI can look up the location of IP addresses, check them for security risk signals, look up ASNs and abuse contacts, get time zones and convert times, read sun and moon times for a place, and parse user agent strings. Every tool is a lookup, so nothing in your account is changed.

Does the AI see my IPGeolocation.io API key?

No. Your IPGeolocation.io credentials are encrypted at rest and never shown to the AI. After you save them, they are not shown again, not even to you. The AI only sees the results of the tools it calls.

Can I control what the AI is allowed to do?

Yes. You choose which tools are switched on, for example only IP location and time zone lookups. Any tool, such as the bulk lookups that handle many addresses at once, can require your approval before it runs. Every tool call is logged.

Does it work with ChatGPT?

Yes. In ChatGPT go to Settings › Apps & Connectors › Advanced and turn on Developer mode, then add your PipMCP link. Developer mode needs a paid ChatGPT plan: Plus, Pro, Business or Enterprise. The same link also works in Claude (Settings › Connectors › Add custom connector), Cursor and other MCP clients.

What does it cost?

PipMCP has a free plan with no credit card required. Paid plans bill per completed task. You also need your own IPGeolocation.io account.

Which lookups need a paid IPGeolocation.io plan?

IPGeolocation.io says security checks, ASN lookups, abuse contacts and the bulk endpoints need a paid plan. If one of those tools returns an error, check your plan in the IPGeolocation.io dashboard. You can also switch those tools off in PipMCP.
