Set up in three steps

Pick the app
Create a free PipMCP account and choose Glean from the app list.

Paste your key
Enter your Glean instance name (the NAME in https://NAME-be.glean.com) and paste a Client API token. A Glean admin opens Admin console > Platform > Token management (Client API tab), clicks Add New Token, chooses permission USER with your email, selects the scopes (for example search, chat and documents) and copies the token.

Add the link to your AI
You get a personal MCP link. Add it to Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor:
1. Click your name, then Settings › Connectors › Add custom connector.
2. Paste your link as the Remote MCP server URL.
3. Switch it on from the + menu in a chat.

Questions

What can the AI do in Glean?

It can search company knowledge, read and summarize documents, ask Glean Assistant and read saved chats. It can find people and teams, read collections, go links, Glean Answers and channel messages, list documents you need to verify and mark a document as verified, unverified or deprecated.

Does the AI see my Glean token?

No. You paste your Glean Client API token into PipMCP once. It is encrypted at rest, never shown to the AI and never shown again after you save it. The AI only gets the results of the tools you have switched on.

Can I control what the AI is allowed to do?

Yes. You choose which tools are switched on, for example search and documents only. Changing a document's verification status with verify_document can require your approval before it runs. Every tool call is logged. The scopes on the Glean token limit access as well.

Does it work with ChatGPT?

Yes. In ChatGPT, open Settings › Apps & Connectors › Advanced, turn on Developer mode and add your PipMCP link. Developer mode needs a paid ChatGPT plan: Plus, Pro, Business or Enterprise. The same link also works in Claude (Settings › Connectors › Add custom connector), Cursor and other MCP clients.

What does it cost?

PipMCP has a free plan, and you do not need a credit card to start. Paid plans are billed per completed task. You also need your own Glean account.

Who creates the Glean token?

A Glean admin creates it in Admin console > Platform > Token management on the Client API tab. For a token with permission USER, the admin enters your email, so the AI sees the same content in Glean that you can see.
