Pick the app
Create a free PipMCP account and choose Cloudinary from the app list.

Paste your key
Paste your Cloudinary API Key and API Secret, and enter your Cloud name. In the Cloudinary Console open Settings > API Keys (or the Dashboard) and copy all three. The same key and secret work for both the Admin and Upload APIs.

You get a personal MCP link. Add it to Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor:

Questions

What can the AI do in Cloudinary?

It can search and list images, videos, raw files, folders and tags, read asset details and structured metadata fields, and check your usage and plan limits. It can upload files, rename assets and folders, update tags, context, metadata and folder placement, restore deleted assets and permanently delete an asset.

Does the AI see my Cloudinary credentials?

No. Your Cloudinary credentials are encrypted at rest and never shown to the AI. After you save them, they are not shown again, not even to you. The AI only sees the results of the tools it calls.

Can I control what the AI is allowed to do?

Yes. You choose which tools are switched on, so you can start with search and lookups only. Deleting an asset is permanent unless backups are enabled, and renaming with overwrite replaces an existing asset, so these can require your approval before they run. Every tool call is logged.

Does it work with ChatGPT?

Yes. In ChatGPT, open Settings › Apps & Connectors › Advanced, turn on Developer mode and add your PipMCP link. Developer mode needs a paid ChatGPT plan: Plus, Pro, Business or Enterprise. The same link also works in Claude (Settings › Connectors › Add custom connector), Cursor and other MCP clients.

What does it cost?

How does the AI upload files?

The upload tool takes a public HTTP(S) URL or a Base64 data URI. Cloudinary fetches the file and detects the file type automatically. You can also name an upload preset, so the preset's settings from your Cloudinary account apply to the upload.
