Pick the app
Create a free PipMCP account and choose awork from the app list.

Paste your key
Paste your awork API key. In awork go to Settings › Integrations and create a new API client, or open an existing one. Open its ... menu › Manage API Keys, create a key and click Copy API Key. The key does not expire and has admin-level access to the workspace, so switch on only the tools you need.

Add the link to your AI
You get a personal MCP link. Add it to Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor:
1. Click your name, then Settings › Connectors › Add custom connector.
2. Paste your link as the Remote MCP server URL.
3. Switch it on from the + menu in a chat.

Questions

What can the AI do in awork?

It can search awork and read projects, tasks, statuses, checklist items, comments, time entries, types of work, companies, users and absences. It can create and update projects, tasks and time entries, change task and project status, set assignees, add checklist items and comments, create client companies and delete time entries.

Does the AI see my awork credentials?

No. You paste your awork API key into PipMCP once. Your awork credentials are encrypted at rest, never shown to the AI and never shown again after you save them, not even to you. The AI only sees the results of the tools you have switched on.

Can I control what the AI is allowed to do?

Yes. You choose which tools are switched on, so you can start with lookups only. Deleting a time entry is permanent and a task comment is visible to other project members, and actions like these can require your approval before they run. Every tool call is logged.

Does it work with ChatGPT?

Yes. In ChatGPT, open Settings › Apps & Connectors › Advanced, turn on Developer mode and add your PipMCP link. Developer mode needs a paid ChatGPT plan: Plus, Pro, Business or Enterprise. The same link also works in Claude (Settings › Connectors › Add custom connector), Cursor and other MCP clients.

What does it cost?

PipMCP has a free plan, and you do not need a credit card to start. Paid plans are billed per completed task. You also need your own awork account.

What access does the awork API key have?

An awork API key does not expire and has admin-level access to the workspace. PipMCP only lets the AI use the tools you switch on, so you can keep it to reading tasks and logging time, for example. Use get_current_user to see which awork user the connection works as.
