Set up in three steps

Pick the app
Create a free PipMCP account and choose Wistia from the app list.

Paste your key
Paste a Wistia API token. As the Wistia Account Owner, open Account Settings > API and click New token. Give it a name and the permissions you want, then copy the token. It can only be copied when it is first created.

Add the link to your AI
You get a personal MCP link. Add it to Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor:
1. Click your name, then Settings › Connectors › Add custom connector.
2. Paste your link as the Remote MCP server URL.
3. Switch it on from the + menu in a chat.

Questions

What can the AI do in Wistia?

It can search and read media, folders, tags, captions, share link settings, channels, episodes, webinars, registrations and viewers, plus stats and analytics for videos and your account. It can update, move, archive and delete media, import media from a URL, create and update folders, add captions and register people for webinars.

Does the AI see my Wistia API token?

No. You paste your API token into PipMCP once. It is encrypted at rest, never shown to the AI and never shown again after you save it. The AI only gets the results of the tools you have switched on.

Can I control what the AI is allowed to do?

Yes. Switch on only the tools you want, for example stats and search without changes. Actions that affect live embeds or reach people, like archive_media, delete_media or register_for_webinar, can require your approval before they run. Every tool call is logged.

Does it work with ChatGPT?

Yes. In ChatGPT, open Settings › Apps & Connectors › Advanced, turn on Developer mode and add your PipMCP link. Developer mode needs a paid ChatGPT plan: Plus, Pro, Business or Enterprise. The same link also works in Claude (Settings › Connectors › Add custom connector), Cursor and other MCP clients.

What does it cost?

PipMCP has a free plan, and you do not need a credit card to start. Paid plans are billed per completed task. You connect your own Wistia account, so anything Wistia charges is between you and Wistia.

Who can create the Wistia API token?

Only the Wistia Account Owner can create API tokens. When you create the token, you choose its permissions, so you can give it only what the AI needs. Copy the token right away, because Wistia only lets you copy it when it is first created.
