Set up in three steps

Pick the app
Create a free PipMCP account and choose US Global Mail from the app list.

Paste your key
Paste a US Global Mail API key. In your dashboard go to Settings > Developer > API keys and create a key. Use a live key (it starts with usgmk_live_), since test keys only work against the sandbox.

Add the link to your AI
You get a personal MCP link. Add it to Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor:
1. Click your name, then Settings › Connectors › Add custom connector.
2. Paste your link as the Remote MCP server URL.
3. Switch it on from the + menu in a chat.

Questions

What can the AI do in US Global Mail?

It can search and read mail items, scans, folders, shipments, addresses and account details, and read scanned files and text summaries. It can request and cancel scans, mark mail read or unread, move mail to folders, archive and unarchive it, create and update folders, and request or cancel a discard.

Does the AI see my US Global Mail API key?

No. Your US Global Mail API key is encrypted at rest and never shown to the AI. After you save it, it is not shown again, not even to you. The AI only sees the results of the tools it calls.

Can I control what the AI is allowed to do?

Yes. You choose which tools are switched on, so you can start with reading mail and scans only. A scan request may incur a fee, and discarded mail cannot be recovered once the facility disposes of it. Those tools can require your approval before they run. Every tool call is logged.

Does it work with ChatGPT?

Yes. In ChatGPT go to Settings › Apps & Connectors › Advanced and turn on Developer mode, then add your PipMCP link. Developer mode needs a paid ChatGPT plan: Plus, Pro, Business or Enterprise. The same link also works in Claude (Settings › Connectors › Add custom connector), Cursor and other MCP clients.

What does it cost?

PipMCP has a free plan with no credit card required. Paid plans bill per completed task. You also need your own US Global Mail account. Any fees for scans you request are between you and US Global Mail.

Can the AI throw away my physical mail?

Only if you switch on the discard tool. It asks the facility to discard a mail item, and once the item is disposed of, it cannot be recovered. A pending discard can be cancelled, and you can require your approval before any discard request runs.
