What can the AI do in Tree-Nation?

The AI can list planting projects, their sites and species, search species, read your forest, count its trees and read the certificate message. It can plant trees with your credit, gift them to recipients with a message and change the default certificate message.

Does the AI see my Tree-Nation API token?

No. Your Tree-Nation API token is encrypted at rest and never shown to the AI. After you save it, it is not shown again, not even to you. The AI only sees the results of the tools it calls.

Can I control what the AI is allowed to do?

Yes. You choose which tools are switched on, so you can start by only reading projects and your forest. Planting trees spends account credit and cannot be undone, so it can require your approval before it runs. Every tool call is logged.

Does it work with ChatGPT?

Yes. In ChatGPT go to Settings › Apps & Connectors › Advanced and turn on Developer mode, then add your PipMCP link. Developer mode needs a paid ChatGPT plan: Plus, Pro, Business or Enterprise. The same link also works in Claude (Settings › Connectors › Add custom connector), Cursor and other MCP clients.

What does it cost?

PipMCP has a free plan with no credit card required. Paid plans bill per completed task. You also need your own Tree-Nation account. The trees you plant are paid with your Tree-Nation credit, which is between you and Tree-Nation.

How do I get a Tree-Nation API token?

Tree-Nation hands out API tokens on request. Ask Tree-Nation for API access, try things with the test token they send you, then request your live token and paste it into PipMCP. The AI can check that the connected token is valid.
