What can the AI do in ThumbnailTest?
The AI can list your connected YouTube channels and your tests, read a single test with its variations, and get the results for a test. It can also start a new thumbnail or title A/B test, and it can see which ThumbnailTest account it is connected as.
Does the AI see my ThumbnailTest credentials?
No. Your ThumbnailTest API key is encrypted at rest and never shown to the AI. After you save it, it is not shown again, not even to you. The AI only sees the results of the tools it calls.
Can I control what the AI is allowed to do?
Yes. You choose which tools are switched on, so you can let it read results without starting tests. Starting a test changes the live video on YouTube, and you can require your approval before that runs. Every tool call is logged.
Does it work with ChatGPT?
Yes. In ChatGPT, open Settings › Apps & Connectors › Advanced, turn on Developer mode and add your PipMCP link. Developer mode needs a paid ChatGPT plan: Plus, Pro, Business or Enterprise. The same link also works in Claude (Settings › Connectors › Add custom connector), Cursor and other MCP clients.

Does starting a test change my video on YouTube?
Yes. While a test runs, ThumbnailTest changes the thumbnail or title of the live video to show the variations. That is why the AI needs the video ID, channel ID, test speed and length, and why you may want approval switched on for this tool.
