Pick the app
Create a free PipMCP account and choose TemplateDocs from the app list.

Paste your key
Paste a TemplateDocs API key. In TemplateDocs, open the API Keys page and create a key. The key belongs to the organization you create it in and gets a role: Admin, Editor or Member. Copy the key and paste it into PipMCP.

Add the link to your AI
You get a personal MCP link. Add it to Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor:
- Click your name, then Settings › Connectors › Add custom connector.
- Paste your link as the Remote MCP server URL.
- Switch it on from the + menu in a chat.
Questions
What can the AI do in TemplateDocs?
The AI can list your templates, read a template's details and placeholders, download the Word file behind it and generate documents as DOCX or PDF from your data. It can also email the result, rename templates, change their options and delete a template if you switch that tool on.
Does the AI see my TemplateDocs API key?
No. Your TemplateDocs API key is encrypted at rest and never shown to the AI. After you save it, it is not shown again, not even to you. The AI only sees the results of the tools it calls.
Can I control what the AI is allowed to do?
Yes. You choose which tools are switched on, so you can start with listing and generating only. Deleting a template is permanent and can require your approval before it runs. Every tool call is logged.
Does it work with ChatGPT?
Yes. In ChatGPT go to Settings › Apps & Connectors › Advanced and turn on Developer mode, then add your PipMCP link. Developer mode needs a paid ChatGPT plan: Plus, Pro, Business or Enterprise. The same link also works in Claude (Settings › Connectors › Add custom connector), Cursor and other MCP clients.
What does it cost?

How does the AI know what data a template needs?
Each template has placeholders. The AI reads them with the get template tool and then maps your values to those placeholder names when it generates the document. If something is missing, it can ask you before it generates.
