Pick the app
Create a free PipMCP account and choose Pictory from the app list.

Paste your key
Paste your Pictory API key. Log in to Pictory and open the API Access page (app.pictory.ai/api-access) to copy it. The key starts with pictai_ and is used as it is, without a Bearer prefix.

You get a personal MCP link. Add it to Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor:
- Click your name, then Settings › Connectors › Add custom connector.
- Paste your link as the Remote MCP server URL.

What can the AI do in Pictory?
It can create storyboard previews from scenes, render videos straight from scenes, render existing projects, check the status and result of storyboard and render jobs, and list your brand kits.
Does the AI see my Pictory API key?
No. Your Pictory API key is encrypted at rest and never shown to the AI. After you save it, it is not shown again, not even to you. The AI only sees the results of the tools it calls.
Can I control what the AI is allowed to do?
Yes. You choose which tools are switched on, so you can allow storyboard previews but not rendering. Rendering a video can require your approval before it runs. Every tool call is logged.
Does it work with ChatGPT?
Yes. In ChatGPT, open Settings › Apps & Connectors › Advanced, turn on Developer mode and add your PipMCP link. Developer mode needs a paid ChatGPT plan: Plus, Pro, Business or Enterprise. The same link also works in Claude (Settings › Connectors › Add custom connector), Cursor and other MCP clients.
What does it cost?
PipMCP has a free plan, and you do not need a credit card to start. Paid plans are billed per completed task. You also need your own Pictory account with API access.
What is the difference between a storyboard and a render?
A storyboard is a preview of the scenes, and nothing is rendered yet. A render builds the finished video. The AI can do either, and both return a job ID that it checks until the result is ready.
