Pick the app
Create a free PipMCP account and choose Perkstar from the app list.

Paste your key
Paste a Perkstar API key. The business owner creates it in the Perkstar dashboard under Settings › API keys › Create API key and picks the scopes the AI may use, such as customers, enrolments, transactions and cards. Copy the secret straight away, as it is shown only once. Use a pk_live_ key for real data. A pk_test_ key only touches test data.

Add the link to your AI
You get a personal MCP link. Add it to Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor:
1. Click your name, then Settings › Connectors › Add custom connector.
2. Paste your link as the Remote MCP server URL.
3. Switch it on from the + menu in a chat.

Questions

What can the AI do in Perkstar?

The AI can search and read customers, cards, enrolments, locations, transactions and events. It can create and update customers, enrol customers on a card, post stamps, redeems and adjustments, and change an enrolment's status. It can also reverse a transaction and send wallet push messages if you switch those tools on.

Does the AI see my Perkstar credentials?

No. Your Perkstar API key is encrypted at rest and never shown to the AI. After you save it, it is not shown again, not even to you. The AI only sees the results of the tools it calls.

Can I control what the AI is allowed to do?

Yes. You choose which tools are switched on, so you can start with lookups only. Reversing a transaction cannot be undone, and a wallet push reaches the customer's phone, so both can require your approval before they run. Every tool call is logged.

Does it work with ChatGPT?

Yes. In ChatGPT, open Settings › Apps & Connectors › Advanced, turn on Developer mode and add your PipMCP link. Developer mode needs a paid ChatGPT plan: Plus, Pro, Business or Enterprise. The same link also works in Claude (Settings › Connectors › Add custom connector), Cursor and other MCP clients.

What does it cost?

PipMCP has a free plan with no credit card required. Paid plans bill per completed task. You also need your own Perkstar account.

Can I try it on test data first?

Yes. Create a pk_test_ key in the Perkstar dashboard and connect that. It only touches test data, so the AI can add stamps and enrol customers without affecting real balances. Switch to a pk_live_ key when you are ready. The scopes you pick for the key also limit what it can reach.
