Connect Claude & ChatGPT to Papersign

Ask your AI which contracts are still waiting for a signature, or to send a document to a new signer in Papersign. It can search documents by status, folder or date, read signers and variables, and send a document with pre-filled variables and a personal message. It can also get the signed copy, copy or move documents, create drafts and cancel a document that should not be signed.

Set up in three steps

    Pick the app

    Create a free PipMCP account and choose Papersign from the app list.

    Paste your key

    Paste your Papersign API key. Generate it on your Paperform/Papersign account page in the Developer section. API access needs a plan that includes the Papersign API.

    You get a personal MCP link. Add it to Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor:

    1. Click your name, then Settings › Connectors › Add custom connector.
    2. Paste your link as the Remote MCP server URL.
    3. Switch it on from the + menu in a chat.

Questions

What can the AI do in Papersign?

The AI can search and read documents, folders and spaces, download documents and get links to signed copies. It can send documents for signature, create drafts, copy and move documents, and create folders. It can also cancel a sent document if you switch that tool on.

Does the AI see my Papersign credentials?

No. Your Papersign API key is encrypted at rest and never shown to the AI. After you save it, it is not shown again, not even to you. The AI only sees the results of the tools it calls.

Can I control what the AI is allowed to do?

Yes. You choose which tools are switched on, so you can start with tracking only. Sending a document emails the signers, and cancelling a document cannot be undone. Both can require your approval before they run. Every tool call is logged.

Does it work with ChatGPT?

Yes. In ChatGPT go to Settings › Apps & Connectors › Advanced and turn on Developer mode, then add your PipMCP link. Developer mode needs a paid ChatGPT plan: Plus, Pro, Business or Enterprise. The same link also works in Claude (Settings › Connectors › Add custom connector), Cursor and other MCP clients.

What does it cost?

PipMCP has a free plan with no credit card required. Paid plans bill per completed task. You also need your own Papersign account. Your Paperform/Papersign plan must include the Papersign API.

Can I reuse a document as a template?

Yes. When the AI sends a document it can send a copy instead of the original, so the original stays unchanged and can be sent again to the next signer. It can also copy a document to a new name or folder.
