Pick the app
Create a free PipMCP account and choose Mention from the app list.

Paste your key
Paste an access token and your Mention account ID. Log in at dev.mention.com/apps/create and create an app (any name and callback URL will do). The access token for your own account is shown at the bottom of the app's details page. Your account ID is returned by the Mention API call GET /accounts/me.

Add the link to your AI
You get a personal MCP link. Add it to Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor:
- Click your name, then Settings › Connectors › Add custom connector.
- Paste your link as the Remote MCP server URL.
- Switch it on from the + menu in a chat.
Questions
What can the AI do in Mention?
It can read your account details, list alerts and who they are shared with, read an alert's settings, read the latest mentions across the account or per alert, open a single mention and its replies, list tasks on an alert's mentions and get mention statistics. It can also pause and resume alerts and mark all mentions of an alert as read.
Does the AI see my Mention access token?
No. Your Mention credentials are encrypted at rest and never shown to the AI. After you save them, they are not shown again, not even to you. The AI only sees the results of the tools it calls.
Can I control what the AI is allowed to do?
Yes. You choose which tools are switched on, so you can start read-only. Pausing an alert stops it from collecting new mentions, and marking all mentions as read changes what is shown as new. Both can require your approval before they run. Every tool call is logged.
Does it work with ChatGPT?
Yes. In ChatGPT go to Settings › Apps & Connectors › Advanced and turn on Developer mode, then add your PipMCP link. Developer mode needs a paid ChatGPT plan: Plus, Pro, Business or Enterprise. The same link also works in Claude (Settings › Connectors › Add custom connector), Cursor and other MCP clients.
What does it cost?
PipMCP has a free plan with no credit card required. Paid plans bill per completed task. You also need your own Mention account.
Why does Mention need an account ID?
Mention's API organises alerts and mentions under an account, so each call has to name the account to work in. You paste the account ID together with the access token, and PipMCP uses it for every call.
