Connect Claude & ChatGPT to Filemail

Set up in three steps

    Pick the app

    Create a free PipMCP account and choose Filemail from the app list.

    Paste your key

    Paste a Filemail API key. Log in to Filemail, open Settings > API Keys (app.filemail.com/settings#apikeys) and create a key. The key acts as your user, so keep it private.

    Add the link to your AI

    You get a personal MCP link. Add it to Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor:

    1. Click your name, then Settings › Connectors › Add custom connector.
    2. Paste your link as the Remote MCP server URL.
    3. Switch it on from the + menu in a chat.

Questions

What can the AI do in Filemail?

It can list and search the transfers you have sent and received, read a transfer with its files and recipients, search your contacts and read your user and plan details. It can email a transfer to more recipients, update a transfer, rename a file in it and delete a transfer.

Does the AI see my Filemail credentials?

No. Your Filemail API key is encrypted at rest and never shown to the AI. After you save it, it is not shown again, not even to you. The AI only sees the results of the tools it calls.

Can I control what the AI is allowed to do?

Yes. You choose which tools are switched on, so you can start with lookups only. Forwarding a transfer sends emails, and deleting one removes its files for good, so both can require your approval before they run. Every tool call is logged.

Does it work with ChatGPT?

Yes. In ChatGPT go to Settings › Apps & Connectors › Advanced and turn on Developer mode, then add your PipMCP link. Developer mode needs a paid ChatGPT plan: Plus, Pro, Business or Enterprise. The same link also works in Claude (Settings › Connectors › Add custom connector), Cursor and other MCP clients.

What does it cost?

PipMCP has a free plan with no credit card required. Paid plans bill per completed task. You also need your own Filemail account on a plan that includes API keys.

Which Filemail plan do I need?

Filemail API keys need a Personal, Pro, Business or Enterprise plan. With one of those, you create the key under Settings > API Keys. The key acts as your user, so the AI sees the same transfers you do.
