Emboss detects the fields in flat PDFs, and the AI can pick a form from your account or from the Emboss library, fill it from free-text context, and check or adjust the values before they are committed. It can also fax the finished document and show your Emboss usage.

Set up in three steps

Pick the app
Create a free PipMCP account and choose Emboss from the app list.

Paste your key
Paste your Emboss API key (it starts with sk_live_). Create it in the Emboss dashboard. The first few operations each month are free; add a payment method in the dashboard for more.

Add the link to your AI
You get a personal MCP link. Add it to Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor:
1. Click your name, then Settings › Connectors › Add custom connector.
2. Paste your link as the Remote MCP server URL.
3. Switch it on from the + menu in a chat.

Questions

What can the AI do in Emboss?

The AI can list your forms, read their fields and field contracts, search the Emboss library and add library forms to your account. It can fill forms from free-text context, preview fills, set field values in a fill session, and read and accept fill proposals. It can also read produced documents, send and check faxes, show your usage and delete a form.

Does the AI see my Emboss credentials?

No. Your Emboss API key is encrypted at rest and never shown to the AI. After you save it, it is not shown again, not even to you. The AI only sees the results of the tools it calls.

Can I control what the AI is allowed to do?

Yes. You choose which tools are switched on. Sending a fax reaches a real fax number and may cost money, and deleting a form cannot be undone, so both can require your approval before they run. Every tool call is logged.

Does it work with ChatGPT?

Yes. In ChatGPT, open Settings › Apps & Connectors › Advanced, turn on Developer mode and add your PipMCP link. Developer mode needs a paid ChatGPT plan: Plus, Pro, Business or Enterprise. The same link also works in Claude (Settings › Connectors › Add custom connector), Cursor and other MCP clients.

What does it cost?

PipMCP has a free plan with no credit card required. Paid plans bill per completed task. You also need your own Emboss account. Emboss gives you the first few operations each month for free and needs a payment method in its dashboard for more.

Can I check the values before a form is filled?

Yes. The AI can preview how a form would be filled from your context without committing. It can also read a fill proposal with the value Emboss suggests for each field, override values, and only then accept it.
