Connect Claude & ChatGPT to Cloudbeds

Ask your AI who arrives today, which rooms are free next weekend, or which rooms still need cleaning, and get the answer from Cloudbeds. It can search reservations and guests, check availability and rate plans, and read the front-desk dashboard. It can also create reservations, assign rooms, check guests in and out, add charges and notes, record payments and set housekeeping status.

Connect Cloudbeds free

Free plan, no credit card. Takes about a minute.

Try asking

  • “How does today look at the front desk?”

The AI reads the dashboard: arrivals, departures, in-house guests, occupancy and rooms available.

  • “Do we have a room for 2 adults from 14 to 16 March?”

It checks availability for the dates and lists the room types that are free, with prices.

  • “Which rooms are dirty right now?”

It lists rooms with housekeeping status dirty, with occupancy and the assigned housekeeper.

What your AI can do

Reservations and guests

Search, create and update reservations, add guests and notes, and look up or update guest profiles.

Rooms and rates

Check availability, list room types, rooms and rate plans, assign or move rooms and see unassigned rooms.

Folios and housekeeping

Add items and payments to a folio, list payment methods and extras, and read or set room condition.

  • “Check in the Hansen reservation and put them in room 12.”

It finds the reservation, assigns the room and checks the guests in.

  • “Add two breakfasts to the Hansen reservation and note that they arrive late.”

It adds the breakfast item to the folio and an internal note to the reservation.

  • “The guest paid 1,200 in cash at the desk. Record it.”

It looks up the code for cash and records the payment on the folio. No card is charged.

Set up in three steps

  1. 1

    Pick the app

Create a free PipMCP account and choose Cloudbeds from the app list.

  2. 2

    Paste your key

Paste a Cloudbeds API key. Your property needs API access. In Cloudbeds click Account > Apps & Marketplace > API Credentials, click + New Credentials, name it (redirect URI https://localhost is fine) and save. Then click Create in the API Key column of that row, tick the scopes you need, approve with your Cloudbeds login and copy the key. It is shown only once.

  3. 3

Add the link to your AI

You get a personal MCP link. Add it to Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor:

    1. Click your name, then Settings › Connectors › Add custom connector.
    2. Paste your link as the Remote MCP server URL.
    3. Switch it on from the + menu in a chat.

Questions

What can the AI do in Cloudbeds?

The AI can read the dashboard, property details, reservations, guests, rooms, room types, rate plans, availability, housekeeping status, notes, sources, items and payment methods. It can create and update reservations, add guests, items and notes, assign rooms, check in and check out, record payments, update guest details and set housekeeping status.

Does the AI see my Cloudbeds credentials?

No. Your Cloudbeds credentials are encrypted at rest and never shown to the AI. After you save them, they are not shown again, not even to you. The AI only sees the results of the tools it calls.

Can I control what the AI is allowed to do?

Yes. You choose which tools are switched on, so you can start read-only. Updating a reservation can cancel it or email the guest, and updating a guest changes their profile, so both can require your approval before they run. Every tool call is logged.

Does it work with ChatGPT?

Yes. In ChatGPT go to Settings › Apps & Connectors › Advanced and turn on Developer mode, then add your PipMCP link. Developer mode needs a paid ChatGPT plan: Plus, Pro, Business or Enterprise. The same link also works in Claude (Settings › Connectors › Add custom connector), Cursor and other MCP clients.

What does it cost?

PipMCP has a free plan with no credit card required. Paid plans bill per completed task. You also need your own Cloudbeds account.

Does recording a payment charge the guest's card?

No. Recording a payment only adds it to the reservation's folio in Cloudbeds, for example cash taken at the desk. It does not charge a card. The AI uses the property's payment method codes to record it with the right type.
