Pick the app

Paste your Carbone API key. Create or sign in to your Carbone account at account.carbone.io and copy your API key from the home page. You can use a test key or a production key.

You get a personal MCP link. Add it to Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor:
- Click your name, then Settings › Connectors › Add custom connector.
- Paste your link as the Remote MCP server URL.

What can the AI do in Carbone.io?
The AI can list and search templates, read template details, categories and tags, and download generated documents. It can render reports from stored templates, render or convert a template sent in the request, upload templates and new versions, update template details, and delete templates if you switch that tool on.
Does the AI see my Carbone.io API key?
No. Your Carbone API key is encrypted at rest and never shown to the AI. After you save it, it is not shown again, not even to you. The AI only sees the results of the tools it calls.
Can I control what the AI is allowed to do?
Yes. You choose which tools are switched on, so you can start with listing and rendering only. Deleting a template or a version is permanent, so that tool can require your approval before it runs. Every tool call is logged.
Does it work with ChatGPT?
Yes. In ChatGPT go to Settings › Apps & Connectors › Advanced and turn on Developer mode, then add your PipMCP link. Developer mode needs a paid ChatGPT plan: Plus, Pro, Business or Enterprise. The same link also works in Claude (Settings › Connectors › Add custom connector), Cursor and other MCP clients.
What does it cost?
PipMCP has a free plan with no credit card required. Paid plans bill per completed task. You also need your own Carbone account.
How does the AI fill a template with data?
Carbone templates use {d.} tags as placeholders. The AI passes JSON data whose fields match those tags, together with the template ID and an output format such as pdf. Carbone returns a render ID, and the AI uses it to download the finished document.
